EU ETS 2
The EU ETS 2
Starting from 2025, the suppliers of fuel for sectors such as road transport and buildings will need to comply with the ETS, including monitoring, reporting, and verifying CO₂ emissions, and purchasing and surrendering emissions allowances.
The new sectors must establish robust systems for accurate monitoring, reporting, and verification of emissions, starting from the baseline year 2024. By 2025, companies in the newly regulated sectors must begin purchasing allowances to cover their emissions, with the first compliance cycle closing in 2026.
