Genesis Biotech SRL is a company dedicated to Biogas Projects, innovation, sustainability and specializing in biotechnology, with solid expertise in the development, construction, and operation of biogas plants in Romania.
The project represents an ambitious initiative that, through an innovative approach to organic biomass management, contributes to a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions and supports global efforts to combat climate change. The project is developed in four different locations, aiming to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources (biogas), using biodegradable organic waste as raw material at each location. These wastes come from the food industry and related sectors such as supermarkets, meat and sausage factories, fruit and vegetable processing, fish processing, sugar production, dairy, bakery, sweets, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, yeast processing, restaurants, expired and non-compliant products, etc.
The biogas obtained from the processing of raw materials is used to power a cogeneration unit (CHP), which produces electricity distributed to the national grid and thermal energy used on-site. The digestate resulting from the fermentation process, a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer, is sanitized and separated into solid and liquid fractions, both of which are used as organic fertilizers in agriculture. This fertilizer helps reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and increases the humus content in the soil, essential for abundant agricultural harvests.
By integrating these processes, the project closes the resource cycle and supports the transition to a circular economy, demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management.
