Silvador Climate Action – Romania

Silvador Climate Action owns private forestlands in Romania and are developing a forest carbon credit project to achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions and removals through the deferral of harvesting on privately owned forests. 

Silvador Climate Action will be implemented in Romania following the VCS VM0012 – Improved Forest Management in Temperate and Boreal Forests (LtPF), v1.2 methodology. Silvador currently consists of a single Project Activity Instance (PAI). The current geographic area is composed of 11 private forest parcels located in the counties of, Buzău, Dâmbovița, with future instances to be located in Arges, Prahova, and Teleorman. The PAI areas are non-contiguous area. All properties were managed for timber harvest prior to the implementation of the carbon crediting project and forest operations occurred under existing forest management plans, all with the current of the current legislation
